Virgina Creeper Trail For Mountain Biking
The 3rd most popular mountain bike trail in Virginia.

Near Damascus in the Mount Rogers NRA, the Virginia Creeper National Recreation Trail is a 33.4 mile mountain bike route along an old rail bed from Abingdon in the west to just past Whitetop Station in the east. Much of themountain bike route winds through the southern mountains of the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. The pathway has a gentle climb and the surface is crushed limestone.
Centrally located on the Virginia Creeper Trail is the quaint town of Damascus, which make a great base for exploring.
A great trailhead is at Creek Junction, east of Damascus. Ride in either direction to access remote stretches of the trail.

Overall, Virgina Creeper Trail is the 3rd most popular mountain bike trail of all 27 mountain biking rides in Virginia. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Virgina Creeper Trail including Iron Mountain, Virginia Highlands Trail, Bushwacker Loop and Rowlands Creek Falls Circuit Trail.
