Lower South Fork Skokomish Trail For Mountain Biking

Northwest of Olympia and Shelton, the spectacular Lower South Fork Skokomish Trail (#873/10 mi) is an excellent mountain bike ride through lowland old-growth forest with abundant wildlife and lowland wildflowers. NOTE: Trail can be muddy during periods of heavy rain.

To reach the trailhead, follow Travel Hwy 101 to the Skokomish Valley Road, 7 miles north of Shelton and 7 miles south of Hoodsport. Turn west on the Valley road and drive about 5 mi. to the junction with FS Rd. #23. Turn right and proceed for 9.0 mi. to FS Rd #2353. Turn right onto FS Rd. #2353 and drive 1.2 mi. to the trailhead.

Overall, Lower South Fork Skokomish Trail is the 37th most popular mountain bike trail of all 59 mountain biking rides in Washington.
