Near Sarasota, the 25,000 acre Carlton Reserve has miles of backcountry dirt and doubletrack open to mountain bikers. Call first for free permit. To reach the trailhead from US75, use exit 35 for Jacaranda Blvd and proceed to Border Road. Turn right and follow to Mabry Carlton Parkway. Turn left and the park entrance is on the right.
