Near Trenton in the Crowder State Park, the Thompson River Trail follows along the Thompson River for roughly 8 miles on rolling, sometimes rocky terrain shaded by huge oak and maple trees.

To reach mountain biking at the trailhead, take Hwy. 6 west through Trenton, turn right onto Hwy. 146 and continue for one mile to Hwy. 128, it will take you into Crowder State Park.

Overall, Thompson River Trail is the 13th most popular mountain bike trail of all 27 mountain biking rides in Missouri.
