Fort Ord For Mountain Biking

The 59th most popular mountain bike trail in California.

Southeast of Monterey, the Fort Ord public lands complex has 83 miles of trails and roads open to mountain biking. These trails are maintained by the Bicycle and Equestrian Trails Association (BETA).

Fort Ord hosts the 18 mile Sea Otter Classic MTB cross country race annually.

To reach Fort Ord from Monterey, head east on US68. The trailhead is located about 2.5 miles past Laureles Grade Road.

Note: Fort Ord Public Lands are open daily from dawn to dusk.

Overall, Fort Ord is the 59th most popular mountain bike trail of all 132 mountain biking rides in California.
