South of Sedona, the 11 mile Cathedral Rock Loop is a scenic mountain bike ride. It combines Bell Rock Pathway with the Templeton Trail and the Easy Breezy Trail.
The best trailhead for this route is the northern Bell Rock Pathway parking area, just north of the Circle K in the town of Oak Creek on SR179.
Follow the Bell Rock Pathway north over the shoulder of Bell Rock and past little Bell Rock. Turn left onto the Templeton Trail which heads under SR179 via a culvert passing the Easy Breezy Trail and then veers left quickly up a small ridge. The Templeton Trail rolls and winds along towards Cathedral Rock (crossing the HT Trail which leads back to the Bell Rock Pathway). Near Cathedral Rock, the trail runs along slickrock and intersects with the Cathedral Rock Trail which actually ascends Cathedral Rock. While the Templeton Trail actually continues another mile leading down to Oak Creek near the Baldwin Trail, just before the Cathedral Rock Trail, you will see the intersection for the Easy Breezy Trail heading down. Follow the Easy Breezy Trail down and stay to the right at the first intersection. The Easy Breezy Trail runs about 2.5 miles back to the intersection with the Templeton Trail near the culvert under SR179. Turn left to get back up to Bell Rock Pathway.
Overall, Templeton Trail / Easy-Breezy is the 3rd most popular mountain bike trail of all 103 mountain biking rides in Arizona.
