Northeast of Wichita and El Dorado in the Flint Hills, the 2,000 acre El Dorado State Park has several trails open to mountain mountain biking and hiking. The park encircles a large reservoir. There are short trails near the dam, and a long 10 mile trail in the north.

Overall, El Dorado State Park is the 8th most popular mountain bike trail of all 10 mountain biking rides in Kansas. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby El Dorado State Park including Flint Hills Death Ride, Elk City State Park, Horsethief Canyon and Coronado Heights.
