Near Austin, the Pedernales Falls State Park has 20 miles of rugged trails over rolling oak/juniper woodlands to cypress lined riverbanks. Watch for flash floods on the Pedernales River.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Johnson City, head east on FM2766 for 9 miles.
