Stonewall Falls For Mountain Biking

The 12th most popular mountain bike trail in Georgia.

Southeast of Clayton in the Chattahoochee Forest, the Stonewall Falls Mountain Biking Loop consists of the original 8 mile loop and a newer 4.1 mile loop. The route combines singletrack and doubletrack rolling through dense forest with awesome vistas. There are numerous stream crossings and the route passes the namesake waterfall.

To reach the trailhead from Clayton, head south on US441 for 2.5 miles. Turn right on the Tiger Connector and then left on old US441. Continue south for 2.5 miles. Turn right heading west on FS20 for 1 mile to the trailhead parking on right.

The Stonewall Falls Loop climbs north out of the parking area.

The new 4.1 mile loop is across the road, south of FS20.

Overall, Stonewall Falls is the 12th most popular mountain bike trail of all 20 mountain biking rides in Georgia. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Stonewall Falls including Amicalola Falls Trail, Bear Creek Trail, Bull Mountain Trail, Unicoi Mountain Bike Trail, North Pocket and Fort Mountain State ParkTallulah Gorge State Park.
