Northwest of Fort Collins in the Poudre Canyon area, the Mount Margaret Trail (#167) is a 4 mile one-way mountain bike route at 8,000 feet. This trail can also be accessed from the Dowdy Lake Campground. It is popular with hikers and mountain bikers alike. The elevation of Mt. Margaret is 7,957. The last part of the trail is marked with cairns.

To reach the trailhead from Fort Collins, head north on US287 for 21 miles into Livermore. Turn left on Redfeather Lakes Road heading west for 20 miles. The trailhead is on the right.

Overall, Mount Margaret Trail is the 88th most popular mountain bike trail of all 178 mountain biking rides in Colorado.
