Youngs Gulch For Mountain Biking

The 83rd most popular mountain bike trail in Colorado.

Northwest of Fort Collins in the Poudre Canyon area, the Youngs Gulch (#837) is a 4 mile one-way route ascending from 5840 feet to 7000 feet. This trail is very popular with hikers and mountain bikers. There is no camping within 1/4 mile of the trail for the first 2 miles. There are several stream crossing on the lower part of the trail.

To reach the trailhead from Fort Collins, head west on SR14 for 23 miles. Across from NFS Ansel Watrous Campground, turn left heading south on dirt road to trailhead.

Overall, Youngs Gulch is the 83rd most popular mountain bike trail of all 178 mountain biking rides in Colorado. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Youngs Gulch including Crosier Mountain, Killpecker Trail, Mount Margaret Trail, North Lone Pine Trail, Roaring Creek Trail and Horsetooth MountainHewlett Gulch.
