West of Fort Collins on the west side of Horsetooth Reservoir, the 2,700 acre Horsetooth Mountain Park has a network of over 29 miles of single and double track trails open to hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. This place is a major local favorite with tough climbs and technical singletrack.

It is located 4 miles from Fort Collins and 12 miles northwest of Loveland. Elevations vary from 5,430 feet at Horsetooth Reservoir to 7,255 feet at the top of Horsetooth Rock.

To reach the park from Fort Collins, head west on Harmony Road (aka CR 38E). Past Taft Avenue, continue west on CR38E for 6 miles. The park is on the righthand side of the road.

Overall, Horsetooth Mountain is the 60th most popular mountain bike trail of all 178 mountain biking rides in Colorado. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Horsetooth Mountain including Crosier Mountain, Killpecker Trail, Mount Margaret Trail, North Lone Pine Trail, Roaring Creek Trail and Youngs Gulch.
