Baker Creek State Park For Mountain Biking

The 11th most popular mountain bike trail in South Carolina.

East of McCormick within the Sumter National Forest, the 1,300 acre Baker Creek State Park has a great 10 mile mountain bike loop through rolling, heavily wooded terrain. Baker Creek State Park is located in the heart of the Sumter National Forest on the shore of Strom Thurmond Lake (formerly Clarks Hill Lake).

To reach the trailhead from Augusta, head north on US221 (SR28) through Modoc to McCormick. Turn left heading west on US378 for 4 miles. Turn right onto Hugoenot Parkway into the park. (About 43 miles from Augusta).

Overall, Baker Creek State Park is the 11th most popular mountain bike trail of all 16 mountain biking rides in South Carolina.
