North of Addison near Brushy Lake in the Bankhead National Forest, the Black Warrior Trail System (aka Owl Creek) has about 30 miles of trails from easy to moderate which can form great loops. The trails are marked regularly with colored metal diamonds.

To reach mountain biking at the Owl Creek trailhead from Grayson, head north on FS245, turn north (left) onto FS262 and look for the Owl Creek Horse Camp approximately 5.5 miles on #262.

To reach the Owl Creek trailhead from Danville, head south on SR41. At the top of hill at the Cave Spring Cemetery, turn right on FS249. Follow this road for about 8 miles, stay left at the FS 249 and FS 265 intersection, there will be a tree in this intersection. Turn left on FS 262 the horse camp is about 2 miles on the left.

Overall, Black Warrior Trail is the 8th most popular mountain bike trail of all 10 mountain biking rides in Alabama.
