Bear Creek Trail System For Mountain Biking

The 7th most popular mountain bike trail in Arkansas.

North of Jessieville in the Ouachita National Forest, the 45 mile Bear Creek Trail System has 4 mountain loops with creek crossings and panoramic vistas. Trail markings are yellow rectangles and carsonite signs. Most of the trail travels along old road beds and is wide enough to mountain bike ride two abreast. One of the most beautiful views of Lake Ouachita can be seen from the historic Powell Mountain tower site. The east loop travels through the Deckard Mountain walk-in Turkey Hunting Area. NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE BEAR CREEK CYCLE TRAIL.

To reach the trailhead at the Bear Creek Horse Camp from Jessieville, head north on SR7 to FS11. Follow signs to the Horse Camp.

Overall, Bear Creek Trail System is the 7th most popular mountain bike trail of all 14 mountain biking rides in Arkansas.
