Between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, the 3,000 acre Fort Custer State park has 20 miles of mountain bike trails through typical farm country with second growth forests and remnant prairie. There are four loops. The Red & Green loops are moderate difficulty. The Yellow and Blue loops are easy.

The Fort Custer Recreation Area is located 1/4 mile east of the village of Augusta. Traveling westbound on I-94, take Exit 92, north 4 miles to M-96, then west 7 miles on M-96 to the Park entrance.

Overall, Fort Custer Recreation Area is the 29th most popular mountain bike trail of all 37 mountain biking rides in Michigan.
