Winchester Trail System For Mountain Biking

The 50th most popular mountain bike trail in Oregon.

Southwest of Salem and south of Coos Bay, the Winchester Trail System is a 30 mile network of mountain bike trails and roads open to mountain biking. This area is very popular with horseback riders, so keep an eye out for them. The trails are maintained by the South Coast Trail Riders, along wihtthe help of the Shutter Creek inmate work crews.

The trail system is located 13 mi. south of Coos Bay on Hwy. 101. At milepost 251, park on the right side (on the gravel) just prior to an uphill with a passing lane.

Note: Gravel roads are not to be used as recreational trails.

Overall, Winchester Trail System is the 50th most popular mountain bike trail of all 55 mountain biking rides in Oregon.
