Long Cane Horse Trail For Mountain Biking

Southwest of Greenwood in the Sumter National Forest, the Long Cane Horse Trail is a 23 mile mountain biking loop through diverse terrain. The while-blazed route begins at the Fell Hunt Campground and runs through oak, hickory and pine forests.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Greenwood, head southwest on SC10 for 7.7 miles. Turn right heading west on Route S 24-27 for 2.4 miles to trailhead on left.

Overall, Long Cane Horse Trail is the 14th most popular mountain bike trail of all 16 mountain biking rides in South Carolina. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Long Cane Horse Trail including Buncombe Trail, Horn Creek Trail and Baker Creek State Park.
