Northwest of Phoenix near Surprise and Peoria in the West Valley, the Pyramid Peak area is becoming popular with local mountain bike riders due to an amazing network of trails on State Trust Land. The trails roll over saguaro desert forest and hills surrounding Pyramid Peak and nearby Deem Hills and Middle Mountain.

It is located north of Happy Valley Road west of US17. Most mountain bike riders park on the US17 frontage road on the west side of the highway (look for a fence gate north of the CAP canal). The trails head west around the north and south sides of Middle Mountain to reach Pyramide Peak.

State Trust Lands Permit Required.

Overall, Pyramid Peak is the 81st most popular mountain bike trail of all 103 mountain biking rides in Arizona. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Pyramid Peak including Estrella Mountain Regional Park, Phoenix Mountain Preserve Trail, McDowell Mountain Park, South Mountain Park, Usery Mountain Park and Black Canyon Trail.
