North of Lanesborough, the 11,500 acre Mount Graylock State Reservation has miles of mountain bike trails about the namesake peak to explore.
To reach the trailhead from the Mass Pike US90, use Exit 2 in Lee. Follow Rte. 20 west to Rte. 7 north. Continue north from Pittsfield to Lanesborough. About 1.5 miles north of Lanesborough center watch for the Mt. Greylock Reservation and Visitor Center signs on the right. Turn right onto North Main St. and follow brown state reservation signs.
Overall, Mount Graylock State Reservation is the 21st most popular mountain bike trail of all 35 mountain biking rides in Massachusetts. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Mount Graylock State Reservation including Chester-Blandford State Forest and Monroe State Forest.
