Northeast of North Adams and west of Monroe Bridge in the Berkshires, the 4,300 acre Monroe State Forest has miles of trails open to mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding through deep valleys and over forested mountains.
To reach the trailhead, follow SR2 to Florida. Turn north onto Tilda Hill Road and follow the signs.
Overall, Monroe State Forest is the 28th most popular mountain bike trail of all 35 mountain biking rides in Massachusetts. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Monroe State Forest including Mount Graylock State Reservation and Chester-Blandford State Forest.
