Northeast of Anchorage and Eagle River in the Chugach State Park, the Peters Creek Trail is a 5 mile one-way trek with scenic views.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Anchorage, head northeast on Glenn Highway to Mile 21. Use the Peters Creek Exit. Using a local map, head southeast climbing on the network of city streets to the top street of Malcolm Drive where the unsigned trailhead is located.

Note: Bikes are not permited past the first 5 miles.

Overall, Peters Creek Trail is the 15th most popular mountain bike trail of all 26 mountain biking rides in Alaska. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Peters Creek Trail including Kincaid Park Trails, Tony Knowles Trail, Far North Bicentennial Trails, Hilltop Trail System, Eklutna Lakeside Bike Trail and Powerline Trail.
