Powerline Trail For Mountain Biking

The 17th most popular mountain bike trail in Alaska.

East of Anchorage from the Glen Alps Trailhead, the Powerline Trail runs 11 miles southeast to the town of Indian with 1,300 feet of elevation gain. There are mountain hemlock groves and open tundra.

To reach mountain biking at the Glen Alps Trailhead from Anchorage, head east on Huffman Road to the end.

Note: Bikers beware of the steep decent into Indian from Powerline Pass.

Overall, Powerline Trail is the 17th most popular mountain bike trail of all 26 mountain biking rides in Alaska. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Powerline Trail including Kincaid Park Trails, Tony Knowles Trail, Far North Bicentennial Trails, Hilltop Trail System, Eklutna Lakeside Bike Trail and Peters Creek Trail.
