Brookfield Trail System For Mountain Biking
The 25th most popular mountain bike trail in New York.

Southeast of Syracuse near Sherburne in southeastern Madison County, the 130 mile Brookfield Trail System for mountain biking traverses the 13,000 acre Brookfield State Forest. The trail system is shared by mountain bikers and horseback riders in the summer, and by snowmobilers and cross-country skiers in the winter. The trail is marked and numbered. The rolling route combines trails and closed forest service roads.
The most popular trailhead is on Moscow Road. This trailhead has camping facilities and can accommodate equestrian and snowmobilier parking. To reach the trailhead from Bridgewater, head south on SR8 for 3.5 miles to Skaneateles Turnpike (CR80). Turn right heading west on CR80 for 9 miles passing through Brookfield and West Brookfield. Turn left heading south onto Moscow Road (CR95) and continue 1 mile to the trailhead parking area.
An alternate parking area is on Shawler Brook Road in the Town of Columbus, about 7 miles northeast of the Village of Sherburne.
Overall, Brookfield Trail System is the 25th most popular mountain bike trail of all 48 mountain biking rides in New York.
