West of Calverton National Cemetary on Long Island, the Calverton Trail is an 8.5 mile winding, twisting loop. While most of the route is easy, there is an optional 1.5 mile advanced section with hill climbs.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from the Long Island Expressway US495, use Exit 68. Head north on William Floyd Parkway to SR25. Turn east on SR25 for 3.5 miles. The parking area is on the left side just past the motel.

Overall, Calverton Trail is the 32nd most popular mountain bike trail of all 48 mountain biking rides in New York. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Calverton Trail including Bethpage State Park, Rocky Point Pine Barrens Trail, Walt Whitman Trail, Nassau Suffolk Trail, Stillwell Woods Perserve and Cathedral Pines TrailMontauk State Park.
