Northeast of Albany and Grafton, the Grafton Lakes State Park has over 20 miles of trails open to hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The park is located on the 1,500 feet forested mountain plateau between the Taconic and Hudson Valleys.
To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Albany, head north on US787 to Troy. Head east on SR2 to Grafton. The trailhead parking lot is located just north of town near the park office. Note: biking may not be permitted on the Spruce Bogs Trail.
Overall, Spruce Bog Trail is the 17th most popular mountain bike trail of all 48 mountain biking rides in New York.
