On the eastern tip of Long Island, the Montauk State Park has 6 miles of multi-use trails for mountain biking through heavily wooded tundra.

To reach mountain biking at the trailhead, follow SR27 east to the very end of Long Island.

Note, there are two trails open only to hikers; the Seal Haulout Trail and the Paumanok Path.

Overall, Montauk State Park is the 29th most popular mountain bike trail of all 48 mountain biking rides in New York. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Montauk State Park including Bethpage State Park, Rocky Point Pine Barrens Trail, Walt Whitman Trail, Nassau Suffolk Trail, Stillwell Woods Perserve and Calverton TrailCathedral Pines Trail.
