Northwest of Blacksburg at the Pandapos Pond Recreation Area, the Poverty Creek trail network has over 17 miles of mountain biking routes. The trails include Poverty Creek Trail, Gap Mountain Trail and Brush Mountain Trail.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Blacksburg, head west on SR460. Turn left across crom SR621 to the trailhead parking area.

Overall, Poverty Creek Trail is the 20th most popular mountain bike trail of all 27 mountain biking rides in Virginia. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Poverty Creek Trail including North Mountain Trail, Wolf Ridge Trail, Allegheny Trail, Wild Oak Trail, Virginia Mountain Bike Trail and Signal Knob LoopFore Mountain Trail.
