Northwest of Newcastle and Alwinton in the Kidland Forest, there is a challenging 25 mile loop through the Cheviot Hills combining roads, bridleways and singletrack. There are many steep climbs and great descents.

The mountain bike trailhead is located northwest of Newcastle upon Tyne and southeast of Jedburgh. The mountain bike trailhead is at the National Park car park in Alwinton.

Overall, Cheviot Hills Loop is the 76th most popular mountain bike trail of all 93 mountain biking rides in UK.
