West of Conway, the Rob Brook area is very popular for mountain biking. The back bone of the area is the Middle Nanamocomuck Trail (4.5 mi.) and Upper Nanamocomuck Trail (4.5 mi.). This provides access to the Rob Brook Trail, Birch Hill Trail and the Sawyer River Trail (3.75 mi.). The routes combine dirt roads with single track.
To reach the trailhead from North Conway, head west on the Kancamaugus Highway (SR16) for about 15 miles to Bear Notch Road. Turn right heading north on Bear Notch Road. The trailhead is on the left after about a mile.
An excellent map is available at the Saco Ranger District headquarters.
Overall, Rob Brook Trails is the 12th most popular mountain bike trail of all 24 mountain biking rides in New Hampshire. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Rob Brook Trails including Nanamacomuck Trail, Cherry Mountain Loop, Hastings Trail, North Conway Trails and Waterville Valley Adventure Center.
