Near Winona in the Mark Twain National Forest, the Between The Rivers Trail is a 30 mile route open to mountain biking. This segment of the Ozark Trail begins at the trailhead on Hwy 60 south of Van Buren, MO.
Heading south from the Hwy 60 trailhead, the first mile is easy hiking, mostly level with gentle slopes. Second mile is mostly uphill, and the next 4.5 miles is a variety of ridges and hollow bottoms.
To reach the northern trailhead from Van Buren, go west on US 60 for 4 miles. The trail starts from here, look for signs.
Overall, Between The Rivers is the 25th most popular mountain bike trail of all 27 mountain biking rides in Missouri.
