North of Roanoke and Clifton Forge in the Douthat State Park, the 9 mile Stony Run Falls Trail passes two seasonal falls: Stony Run and Blue Suck. This mountain biking trail is best in in the spring when trilliums are in bloom.

The Douthat State Park has more than 40 miles of wooded trails to choose from throughout the year, ranging from easy to difficult. The trails are shared by hikers and mountain bikers. Don’t miss the Middle Mountain Trail which hugs a ridgeline.

Also, make sure to check out the new Disneyland Trail.

To reach the trailhead from Clifton Forge on US64, use Exit 27. Head north on CR629 for 5 miles into the DSP.

Overall, Douthat State Park is the 24th most popular mountain bike trail of all 27 mountain biking rides in Virginia.
