Lake Hope State Park For Mountain Biking

The 21st most popular mountain bike trail in Ohio.

Within the 26,300 acre Zaleski State Forest is the Lake Hope State Park with 23 miles of trails open to mountain biking. It is a rugged, heavily forested region traversed by steep gorges and narrow ridges and has abandoned mines, ancient mounds and beautiful scenery. Make sure to check ou the 16 mile Big Loop which connects four of the parks trails.

To reach the trailhead from Athens, head north on SR56 for 15 miles. Turn south on SR278 for 6 miles and park at the Hope Furnace parking lot.

Overall, Lake Hope State Park is the 21st most popular mountain bike trail of all 24 mountain biking rides in Ohio.
