On the island of Curacao, the Jan Thiel Lagoon Trail is a 10 mile route along a packed-clay path. Located on the southeastern side of the island, the Jan Theil Lagoon Trail passes salt flats, old colonial forts and the Jan Thiel Lagoon, which is known for its flamingos.
To reach the Jan Thiel Lagoon Trail trailhead by car, you can drive to the Jan Thiel Beach or start at Lions Dive by the Seaquarium. The mile long section between Lions Dive and Chogogo is narrow, with a few short but moderately technical hills. Halfway between the resorts you arrive at the mouth of Jan Thiel Lagoon.
