Southwest of Marquette, the South Trails are a popular mountain biking destination. There are four loops starting from the primary trailhead. The four loops are: Carp River Loop (yellow blaze), Morgan Creek Loop (gree blaze), Mount Marquette Loop (blue blaze) and Pioneer Loop (red blaze). Each loop is about 5 miles long. The Mount Marquette Loop is by far the most popular with plenty of singletrack and rocky stairs.
If you are looking for somewhere to head in the evening after a long day of riding, check out either Vierling Restaurant or Stuckos Pub and Grill in Marquette.
Overall, South Trails is the 37th most popular mountain bike trail of all 37 mountain biking rides in Michigan.
