West of Chattanooga, the Raccoon Mountain area has 17.5 miles of singletrack open to mountain biking. Some of the better trails include the Perimeter Trail, the Mega-Watt trail, the Thunder Rock Express trail and the Clemmer Trail. If you are looking for a sweet 13.5 mile loop, a locals favorite is to combine the High Voltage Trail with the Live Wire Trail. To reach the Raccoon Mountain biking trailhead from Chattanooga, head east on US24 to Exit #175. Turn right on Browns Ferry Road. Turn left on Elder Mountain Road. Turn right on TVA Access Road. There is good trailhead parking for Raccoon Mountain mountain biking trails at Laurel Point and at East Overlook Parking Lot.
