Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve For Mountain Biking

Southeast of Tampa near Lithia, the 4,900 acre Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve has 35 miles of mountain bike trails. About 25 miles of the trails are techinical singletrack. The 12 mile Red Shirt Trail is a long winding route through pine and oak. The newer Ridgeline Trail is also worth exploring, even though it's only 1.7 miles long, it is a blast to ride.
The Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve is located at 13998 Balm Boyette Road in Lithia.
To reach the trailhead from US75, use Exit #246, Big Bend Rd (CR 672).Go east on Big Bend Rd (CR 672) to US 301.· Turn right on US 301. Continue south for 1.5 miles to Balm Rd (CR 672).· Turn left at Balm Rd (CR 672). Continue east for 5.2 miles to Balm-Boyette Rd.· Turn left on Balm-Boyette Rd. Continue north for 1.3 miles to parking lot on right (east) side.

Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve including Little Manatee River State Park, Alafia River State Park, Wilderness Park Off Road Trail System and Loyce E. Harpe Park.
