West of Grand Junction and southeast Palisade near Powderhorn Resot, the West Bench Trail is a perfect out-and-back starting from Mesa Lakes Resort. It is mainly a flat singletrack route with some doubletrack.

To reach the West Bench Trail trailhead from Palisade, head east on US70 to Exit #49. Head south on SR65 for roughly 25 miles to Mesa Lakes Resort. The well-marked trailhead is near Jumbo Lake.

Overall, West Bench Trail is the 166th most popular mountain bike trail of all 178 mountain biking rides in Colorado.
