In the Mammoth Cave National Park, the Big Hollow Trail is an 8 mile route winding through dense forest with rocks and creek crossings. This is a newer trail system that was opened in December 2013. The trail is maintained by the Southwest Kentucky Mountain Bike Association.
The trailhead for mountain biking the Big Hollow Trail is adjacent to the Maple Springs Campground, the Maple Springs Trailhead. There is also another trailhead known as the Big Hollow Trail trailhead.
Overall, Big Hollow Trail is the 15th most popular mountain bike trail of all 15 mountain biking rides in Kentucky.
