South of Salzburg, the Watzmann-Hochkonig Runde is a figure-eight loop for mountain biking. The northern loop is 156km with roughly 3,800m of climbing, and the southern loop is 283km with 8,000m of climbing. Also known as the Watzmann-Hochkonig Circuit, the entire route is blazed with dark red Watzmann-Hochkonig Runde sign markers for riding the northern loop clockwise and for riding the southern loop counter-clockwise.
