Whiskey Creek Trail For Mountain Biking

The 129th most popular mountain bike trail in Colorado.

West of Vail and northwest of Minturn, the Whiskey Creek Trail is a 3.3 mile singletrack that is combined with Line Shack Road (FS786) to form a popular 8.7 mile loop with 2,100 of vertical. The loop is on the northeast shoulder of Meadow Mountain.

To reach the trailhead from Vail, head west on US70 to Exit #171. Head south on US24 towards Minturn. Immediately, turn right into the National Forest Holy Cross Ranger Station parking lot. The Whiskey Creek ride starts on the southern end of the parking lot and follows FS786 heading up Meadow Moutain. After about 5 miles, look for the Whiskey Creek Trail #2348 heading off to the right (behind a Forest Service hut). It descends north back down to the Eagle River valley near Battle Mountain High School After crossing US70, you can follow US6 eastbound back towards US24 and the parking at the ranger station.

Overall, Whiskey Creek Trail is the 129th most popular mountain bike trail of all 175 mountain biking rides in Colorado.
