On the southside of Vail Mountain, there are several amazing mountain biking trails including Game Creek Trail, Two Elk Creek Trail and the Cougar Trail. While you could start near Minturn and ride up one and back the other to form a loop, it is also possible to take the Lionshead Eagle Bahn Gondola lift to the Eagles Nest summit to access either Game Creek Trail or Two Elk Creek Trail. From that summit, the Game Creek Trail is a 5.4 mile route descending 2,400 feet to the National Forest Holy Cross Ranger Station. Or from the summit, the Two Elk Creek Trail is a 17.4 mile route descending 3,800 feet to the village of Minturn. From the southwest end of these trails, you can ride north up US24 to pickup the Gore Valley Trail which leads east back to Lionshead/Vail.

Overall, Game Creek - Two Elk Creek is the 169th most popular mountain bike trail of all 178 mountain biking rides in Colorado. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Game Creek - Two Elk Creek including Vail Mountain, Lost Lake Loop, North Trail, Big Mamba Trail and Whiskey Creek Trail.
