Near Sydney and Katoomba in the Blue Mountains National Park, this park features spectacular gorges which are the result of erosion caused by the Grose River and Glenbrook Creek through 600m of colorful sandstones, shales and coal measures. The park is covered with tall eucalyptus forests with many waterfalls and shady glens. Lookouts at Govettts Leap (Blackheath) and Echo Point (Katoomba) offer panoramic views. The park has numerous mountain bike rides within its boundaries. Commuter trains run from Sydney into the heart of BMNP and to the main town of Katoomba.

Overall, Blue Mountains is the 8th most popular mountain bike trail of all 30 mountain biking rides in Australia. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Blue Mountains including Six Foot Track Trail, Narrow Neck Trail and Oaks Trail - Woodford To Glenbrook.
