Beginning at the corner of McLeod Ave. and Plewman Way, these moderately steep mountain bike climbs start off on a wide gravel road before splitting to either summit (both routes are 3.5km to the summits). A connecting trail just below the final switchback on Monte Cristo traverses to the saddle between the two mountains. Just short of the K-C summit is a connnector to the Coyote Swamp Trail.
Overall, Kootenay-Columbia / Monte Cristo is the 8th most popular mountain bike trail of all 46 mountain biking rides in British Columbia.
