The mountainous Cyclades Islands consist of Naxos, Paros and Antiparos. Originally one island before a volcanic eruption sank the island, the Aegean Sea surrounds the highlands forming bays and rocky shorelines. The local culture welcomes visitors. Paros is the main island and provides central ferry service to the other islands. The town of Porto Paros provides a great base for biking.
On the west coast of Naxos, a great mountain bike ride (55 km) heads to Galando for nice vistas of the coast and magnificent beaches. Then on to Pyrgoki and Livadi while heading back.
From Port Paros, another mountain bike ride (50 km) heads through Pounda towards Parikia. From here, take a ferry over to Antiparos.
Overall, Porto Paros is the 12th most popular mountain bike trail of all 12 mountain biking rides in Greece.
