East of Belfast near Omagh in northern Ireland, the Gortin Glens Forest Park has several mountain bike trails ranging from 2 to 5 miles each. The Gortin Glens Forest Park has an area set aside for mountain biking there are a wide variety of tracks to cater for all levels of difficulty. It is a great place for mountain bikers to roam and explore especially for the fit and able as there are plenty of hills to climb.
The course incorporates a downhill and 2 interlinking cross-country sections, developed to the highest standard, with a particularly dark and menacing Hells Alley ride along an old turf-cart track overgrown by trees, which gives it a tunnel-effect. The features of the course include banks, jumps and berms (a high cambered mound or bank), along with steep climbs and long downhills.
To reach the trailhead from Omagh, follow B48 past History Park turn left, trail starts 250m on right. The Mountain Bike Tracks are located opposite the main forest car park.
