Southeast of Geneva and Martigny, the alpine Verbier area is laced with an immense 200km trail network for mountain biking. The Vebier Bike Park is a popular place to start. There are three routes ranging from moderate to difficult to hardcore. When you are ready to explore more of the mountain, try the Tour Du Mont-Fort (tdmf.ch) which is a marked 100km mountain bike route that loops through the alpine terrain surrounding Verbier. And, when you are ready to go further afield from Verbier, there is the Parcours du 700 - Val de Bagnes and there is the Pecca Bike, which is a steepmountain bike route through several regional towns including Bourg-St-Pierre, La Niord, Vicheres, Les Moulins and Chandonne.
One of the best Verbier mountain bike trails is the route from the summit of the Ruinettes lift leading all the way down to Le Chable that is called La Chaux-to-Morgnes. From the top of Ruinettes, head southeast while climbing on the doubletrack. There are signs to La Chaux. Look for the rocky trail just below the ridgeline. Follow that trail to the start of the singletrack along the ridgeline spine that leads all the way down to the valley below at Le Morgnes. From Le Morgnes, you can roll the road back to Le Chable. Once back up in the lifts of Verbier, There is another fun route down from the summit of the Fontanet lift. This route rolls northwest all the way back down to the valley floor at Le Chable.
To reach Verbier from Geneva, head east on Route A1 and south on Route A9 into Martigny. Follow Route 21 towards Verbier.
