North of Liverpool, the village of Ambleside makes a great base to explore the wild and scenic mountain bike trails near Troutbeck, Kentmore and in the Grizedale Forest. Ambleside is located at the north end of Lake Windermere. From the north, exit M6 at junction 40 (Pernith) and proceed west on A46. Turn left onto A592 over Kirkstone Pass. At a fork, bear right into the village.

Overall, Ambleside Trails is the 17th most popular mountain bike trail of all 93 mountain biking rides in UK.
