North of Liverpool between Ennerdale Bridge and Loweswater, the Floutern Tarn figure-eight loop runs 24 miles on bridleways and forest roads.
The mountain bike trailhead is located southwest of Carlisle and northeast of Engremont. Starting southeast of Ennerdale Bridge at the Whins bridleway parking area, head northeast on the Buttermere-Loweswater bridleway. At Loweswater, continue north on forest road (C2C Cycle Route). Near Low Lorton head west on forest road to routes leading back to Loweswater again. From Loweswater, loop counterclockwise through Lamplugh back to Whins car park.
