The NYMNP is a vast plateau of moorland covering 1,000 sq. miles. The fringes are characterized by steep scarps and deep hollows between the flat-topped ridges. The ridge top mountain bike singletracks on either side of Bilsdale are classic rock-infested, narrow trails.
Overall, Bilsdale Area is the 12th most popular mountain bike trail of all 93 mountain biking rides in UK. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Bilsdale Area including Boltby Forest, Cleveland Way, Rudland Rigg, Sutton Bank, North York Moors National Park, Dalby Forest and Hawes.
